Broadband Satellite Internet Undergoing Big Changes

The demand for broadband satellite services continues to grow each and every year.  This is due to the fact that more and more services are now moving online making it almost impossible to do certain tasks without the help of a computer and a fast internet connection.  However, a fast connection has remained a dream for many rural residents due to high costs or low reliability, until now.

With demand for satellite broadband services at an all time high and global bandwidth consumption doubling every two to three years, One of the highest capacity satellites in the world has recently been launched as a way to provide faster and more reliable internet service to those throughout North America.  This new high capacity system will transform the world of broadband satellite internet service and make the industry more competitive with traditional broadband service providers such as DSL and cable companies.

With the launch of this new $400 million dollar satellite, the telecommunications industry may very well be in the process of entering a new era.  Here, customers will be able to choose from their different plans in which the speeds are all the same and the only differences come in the amount of data which can be uploaded and downloaded each month.  This makes it possible for families to still get the internet they need at a price which they can actually afford.

The new satellite is differentiated from other communication satellites over North America by its throughput capacity.  In addition, it also makes use of the Ka band rather than the older technology of the Ku band.  In fact, the Ka band provides much more capacity than the Ku band, which is helpful as the wave of the future and demand continues to increase.  However, even this particular Ka band satellite can best most other Ka satellites by providing multiple times the throughput of some other Ka birds in space.  In addition, it has a total of 140Gbps which can meet the demand for broadband and bandwidth for approximately one million customers.

The new satellite will also cost less to operate and the in-orbit costs are only a fraction of what even the previously newest satellites cost to operate.  As a result, the cost savings will be passed along to consumers who will find a comparable option to not only DSL and internet in the city, but in the country as well.

It is hoped that the newest satellite along with the SurfBeam ground infrastructure will be enough to be a better broadband satellite internet choice than ever before.  In fact,  many of the old problems such as rain fade are greatly reduced thanks to this latest technology.

The latest edition of broadband satellite internet service is here and the industry is about to be changed forever.
